MMA is unique in the fact that competitors use 4oz gloves. Boxers use 16oz gloves which provide a TON of protection, because all boxers do is punch each other. Things change when you can kick, knee, elbow, throw, slam, choke, and lock joints. Mixed martial artists need a glove to protect their hands while giving them the agility to grapple. This glove is designed specifically for the striking mixed martial artists. This glove has a unique 3/4 finger design which gives a little more protection than the standard 1/2 finger glove. This gives ultimate protection for punches, back fists, and hammer fists. The palm design is one piece with a thumb hole which prevents ripping and tearing (a common defect in gloves with open palm or straps). Finally, a mma glove made for the heavy striker!
